Members' Charity Day Update from the President & Captains 20th November

A number of our members have already got behind our charity day and are sponsoring holes, bringing their friends to play and donating prizes to be auctioned or raffled. We are well on our way to achieving our vision for our club to contribute to the community.   

This is a reminder to all members that you still have the opportunity to be part of our inaugural Lakes Members Charity Day to be held Thursday 20th November, by signing up to play, coming to dinner, donating prizes or helping on the day.

The Board approved donating the use of the course to the Nelune Foundation without charge.  An important and unique aspect of this Foundation is that, despite being a high-profile substantial charity, there are no paid employees and you can be certain that every dollar donated contributes fully to the Foundation’s goals – buying equipment, delivering services and building cancer centres.

Several members have already signed up to sponsor the event and make other notable contributions:

Other contributions include auction prizes: the rights to name a character in an upcoming Matthew Reilly blockbuster book; artwork by Ernie Salerno (the creator of The Defining Moment statue and the Adam Scott plaque); a game of golf with two of our prominent professional members-Peter Lonard and Peter O’Malley; vouchers for fashion; personal training; and a wine cellar auction.

What do you get on the day?

  • A 1:30pm shotgun start for a four-ball team event with a singles in conjunction;
  • A special commemorative shirt for members only;
  • A sandwich lunch pack plus on-course soft drinks;
  • A goodie bag with caps and balls for all participants;
  • A three-course dinner with wine
  • Live entertainment, including Andrew Hansen from The Chaser team and live music
