The Annual President’s vs Captain’s Day was held today with 68 Members teeing it up in the event this year. The golf course has been recovering well after the Spring Renovations in late September and it presented well and proved to be in wonderful condition for the players that greeted it in the PM shotgun field.
Great news such as the driving range re-opening this morning got the day off in spectacular style as Members were once again out on the range perfecting their skills. Newly laid artificial turf greeted them on the recently constructed Practice Precinct.
The best Single Stableford score of the afternoon was posted by Bruce Johnson who fired a great score of 37 points. Bruce was closely followed by Alan Balderston who returned 36 points also. They certainly contributed to the President’s team which won this year’s contest 12 – 5. The best fourball score for the President’s Team was Rozanne Butcher and Andrew Kirkman with 44 points.
The best Fourball Score for the Captain’s Team was Warwick Amos and Gabriel Simon who returned a score of 43 points. The best Single Stableford score from the Captain’s Team for the afternoon was Gabriel Simon with a score of 35 points on a countback. Fantastic effort by all!
After the golf had concluded, it was really great to see the 70 or so Members in the Clubhouse come together for the traditional dinner. The food and company were enjoyed by all and the event was signed off in a fashionable manner.
