Arthur Dews Memorial Trophy

The Arthur Dews Memorial Trophy was played on the final Saturday in July. The event is played in conjunction with the event of the day which is a Single Stableford off the Blue markers.

The Arthur Dews Memorial Trophy is a Major Trophy presented by Gavin Lesnie to commemorate the passing of Arthur Dews in 2009. Arthur was a Board Member from 1987 to 1990 and served as Captain in 1990-91. He was made a Life Member of the Club in 2009 for his services to the Club over a long period of time.

The 2017 Champion and out to defend his title yesterday was Michael Holliman.

The golf course was presented in superb condition and in bright, sunny conditions for golf, it was a treat for the 180 Members who played in yesterday’s event.

The winner of the day and the 2018 Arthur Dews Memorial Trophy was Greg Freeman who played off 17 shot an amazing score of 43 points. Greg won the event by 5 strokes to his nearest competitor which was Peter Faulkner, off 13, who had 38 points to take out the Runner Up position. Congratulations Greg and Peter on some superb golf!

Next Saturday 4th August is the 1st round of the 72 Hole Championship Medal. A four round stroke event played off the BLACK tees and the competitor with the lowest four round gross total, is crowned the 72 Hole Championship Medal Winner.
