The Lakes Silver Pennant team were thrilled to come equal first with Royal Sydney this year after a nail biting final round at St Michael’s. Royal Sydney was equal on points with The Lakes but ahead of us (by 1.5 games on a count back) when we took the tee in the final round on Friday 29 June. Despite very cold conditions and a lot of nerves we were successful in bringing home a 5.5/1.5 win against Bonnie Doon. Royal Sydney played much later than us but finally brought in a 4/3 win against their opponents, Moore Park and thus the gap in total games was closed.
We had a strong group of players to choose from this year. They and many other club members were very loyal and supportive of our efforts and achievements each week.
