After two washed out rounds of the 2018 Sunday Challenge, the weather gods finally smiled upon us and we were able to kick the competition off. The Lakes hosted Royal Sydney, Bonnie Doon, St Michael’s and NSW on a fabulous day with the course in peak condition and some tough pin placements to unsettle the visitors.
I am pleased to report that the Lakes girls stood up and currently lead the competition (146) with Royal Syd (135), st Michael’s and the Doon (134) and NSW (126). Lucy Wei won Div 2 with a fine 34pts (including 4 wipes!), and Fiona Cottrell, Liz Clemow, Sukja Lee and myself all contributed to a fine team effort.
Next round is at NSW in September, and while they are coming last, NSW have never been beaten on their home track. Game on!
Well done girls
