BRONZE 1.
We have had two games so far in our competition. The first week we went down to Royal Sydney 3/2 at Bonnie Doon, the result was close and was hard fought. This week we played NSW at Royal Sydney and we won very convincingly with our team members Rozanne Butcher and Lynne Walsh both squaring their matches, Michelle Wilcox 3/2 and Lani McDowall 5/3. Our Field Captain, Barbara Coxon had a tough match going down at No. 1 but was overwhelming supported by the rest of her team. We now have 1 win and 1 loss and with our Hosting Day completed, we can now get on with the rest of the competition.

BRONZE 2.
Royal Sydney turned on some “royal” weather for Bronze Pennants last Friday. Bronze 2 had a tough match against NSW but Kim Ganderton (1 up), Nikki Finney (4/3) and Saskia Orgill (6/5) clinched the win for the team. Sue and Jane both went down 2/1. That’s 2 wins out of 2 for Bronze 2, hope we can keep it up! The next round of Bronze 1 and 2 Pennants is on Friday 18th May where we play The Australian at Moore Park Golf Club.

SILVER
In Round 2 of the Silver Pennants competition, we played The Australian at Bonnie Doon. It was a great effort by all with The Lakes taking away the win 4 1/2 to 2 1/2. Wins were posted by Nancy Cave – Olfers 7/5, Catherine Brownjohn 3/2 and Deirdre Baker 7/5. Phoebe Hoy, Trish Daly and Lynda Eager all managed to fight tough battles in their match to walk away with respective halves each. Kim Preston had a tough day to lose her match 6/5.
The star of the show though was Lynda Eager. Lynda had a hole in one on the 11th hole when she was playing against Ros Selley from The Australian. Congratulations Lynda on your Hole in One!
Round 3 of the Silver competition will be held on Friday 25th May at The Lakes. Our team will have a BYE this coming Friday.
