The Women’s Club and Women’s Bronze Championship Qualifying rounds commenced this Sunday 23rd August 2020 under absolutely brutal playing conditions.
The Lakes Junior Championship winner, Rebecca Zhao has put herself into pole position, 5 shots ahead of Susan Wiggins, playing on possibly the toughest day on the golf course this year. The top 8 players after the two qualifying rounds will progress to the Match Play stage of the Championship.

Rozanne Butcher is currently sitting in first place after round 1, no doubt looking over her shoulder at Womens Midweek Champion and holder of trophies et all, Sue Goble just one shot behind. Sue has the game for stroke play but does Rozanne have the goods on match play? The top 4 players will progress to the Match Play stage of the Championship.

This year, there will be a new trophy event introduced to the Women’s Club Championship qualifying rounds. The Multi round trophy is similar to the Midweek Championships Kerry Cripps Silver Salver. ‘The Argentum Salver’ will be awarded to the player who has the best NETT score over the two qualifying rounds being played on 23rd and 30th August. This trophy will be for ladies who have a GA Handicap between 9.0 to 18.7 inclusive, as of Sunday 23rd August 2020.
