THE LAKES SENIOR MEDAL – RESULTS
There were 14 Lakes Members playing in the event who were Geoffrey Everett, Peter Cook, Michael Joseph, Greg Levy, Giora Friede, Joe Gilles, Roy Vandersluis, Gary Snow, John Dalley, Tony Happell, Alex Bosansky, Arthur Burgess, Stuart Macaskill and David Pullini.
The Lakes Senior Medal was the first round of three for the NSW Senior’s Classic which is held over three rounds of 18 holes of stroke over three different courses. The best 54 hole scratch score at the end of the event is crowned the NSW Senior’s Classic Champion. In today’s event, it was our very own Giora Friede who held onto a 73 on a countback from Grant Meredith from The Links Shell Cove Golf Club.
As per the Conditions of Play, Each winner may only win one Prize. Had this not been the case, Giora would have easily won both the Scratch and Nett divisions. Playing off a 5 handicap in the event, the sensational 73 is a very very impressive Nett 68. In the end, the Nett prize goes to Graham Leake from The Links Shell Cove Golf Club, also off a handicap of 5 who had a nett score of 70. In the 65 and over component of the event, the winner from Castle Hill was Gerry Power with 75.
Congratulations to all winners and participants of this year’s event. We look forward to welcoming back all players in May 2022.
Round 2 will be played at The Australian Golf Club on Tuesday 11th May and Round 3 at Avondale Golf Club on Wednesday 12th May.
