Congratulations to the Huntingdale GC team who won the annual match at their home Club in Melbourne last week.
The Huntingdale Members used local knowledge of their own course to edge a close contest 6.5 to 0.5 on Sunday 5 March.
Special mention to Lakes pairing to Tom Schmid and Michael Farley who posted the only score for the Lakes team.
The ‘match’ was held on the third and final day of a fantastic Members’ golf trip to Melbourne which included 2 games of golf, lunch, dinner and drinks at Huntingdale GC and 1 game of golf, lunch, dinner and drinks at Yarra Yarra GC.
The great golf courses, delicious food, ample supply of refreshments and friendly camaraderie between Members of both Clubs made for a sensational weekend.
The group from Huntingdale GC will return to The Lakes in March next year and we encourage you to consider joining in on what is sure to be another great weekend as we celebrate the 70th staging of this historic and wonderful event.
The Lakes will host this event for the next 2 years whilst Huntingdale GC undertakes an extensive course re-design by OCM (same course architects as The Lakes).
We look forward to returning once the works are complete and experiencing the improvements to an already great course.
