On behalf of the Board I am pleased to advise that we have agreed to host the 2018 Emirates Australian Open Championship.
The Club recently hosted this tournament in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and we look forward to welcoming back some of the world’s top players in two years’ time.
The experience of these three Australian Opens has continued to enhance our Club over the ensuing years. Last year we returned to a Waiting List for 7 Day Membership for the first time in 15 years and whilst strong membership is a result of a range of factors, there is no doubt that hosting our country’s most prestigious tournament certainly strengthens our standing in the game.
We are focused on our strategic direction including our Mission to remain actively committed to our progressive leadership role in Australian golf, growing the game and maintaining our tradition as one of the leading tournament venues in the country. We have therefore communicated our desire to host further championships post 2018.
