The Lakes once again hosted its Ladies Cup and Handicap Bowl (for players on handicaps between scratch and 16.0) and the Bronze Salver and Handicap Tray (for players on handicaps between 16.1 and 28.2) on Monday 15th February.
The extremely hot and humid conditions on the day tested most players unfamiliar with the course layout. The event attracted 74 players representing 33 golf clubs in NSW including close neighbours Bonnie Doon and The Australian Golf Clubs and committed travelers from as far as Royal Canberra.
Visitors very quickly realise how The Lakes has earned its tough slope rating, the most difficult of Ladies courses in NSW. Although the opportunity to play such a prestigious course in an open event overshadows any trepidation players may have about their final result.
